Welcome to my world of fantasy, poetry, and other lost loves. . .

Dominick Reed Jr. is an American writer of fiction and poetry books for adults and young adults. Born in small-town Missouri, Reed learned to seek out the fantastical inspirations within the mundane. His first published poem, “I Missed the Funeral,” in the magazine Reach, sparked a writer’s journey bound to worlds of lyrical dark fantasy. Reed’s current project, The Crazed Heroes Collection, rests between a molding of epic fantasy and a spell-binding atmosphere of worlds at war. The Crazed Heroes Collection‘s first entry, Small Deaths and Smaller Kingdoms, is set for a 2025 release. When Reed is not forging destinies to the page, he is a food service manager raising two ruling house cats and three rebel dogs.

Works in Progress:

*I Don’t Want to Forget: A Collection of Poems

Reed’s first poetry collection, I Don’t Want to Forget, encapsulates the poems from his first four years as a writer, or “the college years,” as stated. His first published work, a poem titled “I Missed the Funeral,” will be the first poem in the collection as it sets the stage for a melancholic atmosphere and grand silver linings.

*Small Deaths and Smaller Kingdoms: Book One of The Crazed Heroes Collection

The multiple POV structure allows a glimpse into the five forges, the magic systems bound to Cherishpine. The novel begins with a blood feud as the young prince Ashtin of the Shian Princedom ignites his golden spear against his eldest brother, his mother’s favorite prince, and her heir. Then we shift to Esbenna, a simple crop and produce botanist for the Shian Princedom, as she begins a life-altering revolution for her people after an incredible loss awakens her suppressed ideologies. Esbenna’s highly despised political movement, which calls to alleviate her forge family’s oppression, creates attempts against her life within Shian court politics.
