1) Physical Description;
- Medium, brown skin
- Extensive freckles under eyes and cheeks
- Honey colored eyes
- 5’8 (usually criticized for his height by his mentor)
- Short, black hair with white dyed tips (black is shown through the roots but hair is mostly bleached white)
- Toned body with light muscle
- Silver and black rings on both hands (the only materials left from his real parents)
- Very light stubble of a beard and mustache
- Thick eyebrows
- Sharp cheekbones
- Minimal dark clothing and cloaks make up his wardrobe (constantly traveling around the world means light packing of clothes)
2) Personality;
- Wisp’s keen mind for exploration and curiosity increases as he travels with his mentor, Narstris.
- Surprisingly witty for being a seventeen-year-old with little education.
- He is quick to anger when his abundant questions about the world are not answered by his mentor.
- While Wisp is extremely charismatic about exploring the world, he is pretty shy and timid around the folks he and Narstris come across on their travels.
- In an almost mantra-like manner, Wisp constantly whispers, “show them your power” to himself during stressful or violent situations, which happens quite often.
3) Family History;
- From a line of crooked merchants that sold potions and anecdotes that often have ill-favored side effects.
- Wisp’s parents sold firelight potions to a powerful family who did not appreciate the side effects at all.
- Wisp’s father and mother were killed by a Saber Master when Wisp was only eight years old.
- Wisp was taken in by Narstris, the Saber Master who killed his family. Now, Narstris is the only “family” Wisp has left, but Narstris regards him only as a novice in training instead of family. In truth, Narstris comes off as an older sister figure to Wisp, even though she would never admit it.
4) Personal Conflicts;
- Above all else, Wisp is determined to complete his novice training and become a Saber Master alongside his mentor, Narstris.
- Wisp has a lot of anxiety and stress while completing the necessary tasks in order to become a Saber Master. He obsessively whispers, “show them your power” to himself in some kind of attempt to pull himself out of the weak attributes that Narstris clearly states he has.
- Training to become a Saber Master means that a life of assassinating good and bad people comes with creating new enemies every day. Wisp and his mentor, Narstris, are constantly engaging with other assassins and villains who seek revenge for the people the Saber Masters’ have killed.
Wisp was orphaned at the age of eight when a Saber Master assassinated his crooked parents. Magic, potions, and poisons make up most of the economy in this world, which creates many avenues for betrayal and deception. Narstris, the Saber Master responsible for killing Wisp’s parents, took pity on the young boy she orphaned. Usually, Narstirs would not pay these orphans she left behind any mind; however, Wisp had some unique qualities that delighted her. From then on, Narstris allows Wisp to accompany her on her journeys of assassination and instills fear into those who misuse magic and potions, like Wisp’s parents.
Wisp is not a young man with a confident personality, as a lot of uneasiness and hesitation clouds his mind. Narstris has trained him in the art of the Saber Masters, yet she has not exactly been a mother-like figure to him. Between his own hesitations and semi-hatred for Narstris, Wisp finds himself not knowing who he truly is and wondering if the life of an assassin is his destiny. The story begins with Narstris guiding Wisp to his final trials as a novice, but a secret sets them apart. Wisp does not know what Narstris is hiding about these trials, which plunges him into a world of worry.
